Sheet Metal Fabricator Welder – Mild Steel MIG
Roles and Responsibilities
Reports to: Shop Floor Manager
Mission: Being an integral member of the team in our Heavy Fabrication department, you will be required to MIG weld and Fabricate various types and sizes of steelwork including the general fabrication of various sign types. For example Totem frames and baseplate upto 30mm in thickness. You will be responsible for ensuring your work is completed to a high standard and meets deadlines throughout each working day.
The role involves: Be an integral member in a fast-paced Heavy Fabrication department, making high quality steel structures to suit our signage, working to our manufacturing drawings.
Daily you are expected to, individually perform, and have a high level of performance within the team, to carry out the following duties without compromise and to the best of your ability, being accountable for each aspect of your job.
Key Responsibilities
- To accept products and inspect for quality prior to any further processing, highlighting any defects to the Team Leader
- Experience in welding techniques including MIG on various materials
- Coded Welder
- Overhead Crane Licence
- Ability to read and understand manufacturing drawings
- Maintain a high level of quality
- Be time conscious on jobs pushing yourself to meet timings
- Qualification in sheet metal/fabrication
- To follow all Health and Safety guidelines and rules, ensuring correct PPE is worn at all times and replaced when necessary
- Follow company policy and procedures within your department, reporting any non-conformance to management.
- Attend any training and develop relevant knowledge and skills

Minimum Hours of Work:
8.00 – 16.30 Monday – Thursday
8.00 – 15.30 Friday
Job Type: Full-time
Salary: £11.00-£15.00 per hour
