Job Description Applications are invited for a Trust Doctor ST3 equivalent in Obstetrics and Gynaecology based at St Richards Hospital from April 2023 for a period of 12 months. Desirable attributes for the postholder: The candidates must have experience in Obstetrics and Gynaecology, and ideally have decided on Obstetrics and Gynaecology as your preferred career. You will be committed to working as a team member providing care to our patient population. You will have an active interest in developing your personal, clinical, and special interest skills. You will be capable of managing projects both independently and under supervision. The clinical duties of the post include the following: Work on labour ward, ward work, attendance in clinic, theatres and covering the gynaecology emergency and early pregnancy clinics are part of the daily duties. There is a registrar (second tier) present on call 24 hours and a consultant present for 65 hours a week and then on call from home. The post holder accepts that they will also perform duties in occasional emergencies and unforeseen circumstances at the request of the appropriate consultant, in consultation, where practicable, with their colleagues, both senior and junior. While it has been agreed between the professions that they will perform such duties, the Secretary of State stresses that additional commitments arising under this sub-section are exceptions and you should not be required to undertake work of this kind for prolonged periods or on a regular basis.
