Having strong research and evaluation evidence is integral to an organisation’s effectiveness, and at The Education & Training Foundation (ETF) we are committed to ensuring that we respond to the needs of the FE sector and deliver high quality and impactful workforce and professional development for the FE workforce, including our SET members.
We are seeking a Research, Evaluation & Learning Manager to play a significant role in improving the impact and learning culture and capabilities of ETF and help to ensure that insights and lessons learnt from our research and evaluation activities are used to improve our professional and workforce development offer for the FE sector and increase ETF’s impact.
Working within a small Research & Evaluation team, that provides a valuable support function for ETF and SET, you will effectively manage a diverse portfolio of ETF led and independent impact and process evaluations relating to our FE workforce development programmes and professional development activities. You will oversee the procurement and day to day management of a new evaluation and learning partner that will co-design and deliver an impact study for ETF, and you will be responsible for implementing and maintaining new monitoring, evaluation and learning frameworks (MEL) across ETF, that are informed by ETF’s organisational and programme level theories of change
The post-holder will have strong research and evaluation credentials and be highly skilled at quality assuring all stages of the research and evaluation lifecycle.
The successful Candidate will report the Head of Impact, and be situated in the Research & Evaluation Team, which is part of ETF’s Education Directorate.
The ideal candidate will possess some of the following:
- Demonstrable knowledge and experience of managing the procurement and commissioning process for research and evaluation projects, developing ITTs and tender response documents
- Demonstrable experience of managing and supporting research/ evaluation contractors to achieve high quality results
- Demonstrable experience of undertaking research and evaluation on diverse issues and/or in complex contexts, involving the use of quantitative and qualitative data
