Job Description

Summary of job description: To support analytical testing, method development, the construction and production of novel oncolytic viruses and to support the maintenance and upkeep of Analytical Development and Research laboratories and equipment.

Maternity cover position.

Key responsibilities:

· Supporting Analytical Development and Research testing of Replimune’s novel oncolytic viral products using PCR, ELISA, SDS-PAGE and cell-based assays.

· Supporting the development of new viruses by performing cell culture and molecular biology techniques required for recombinant virus construction.

· Supporting production of batches of Replimune viruses and performing required testing and compiling certificates of analyses.

· Supporting tissue culture and molecular biology activities within the laboratory.

· Responsible for maintaining laboratory equipment, including daily checks and maintenance, monthly decontamination and coordinating servicing activities with the Facilities team.

· Stock management of laboratories, including ordering, risk assessing and preparing reagents and consumables.

· Maintaining contemporaneous lab book and associated documentation to GDP standards in accordance with company guidelines.

Educational requirements:

· Biological Sciences BSc degree required.

Experience and skill requirement:

· Minimum 1 year practical experience of working within a laboratory environment.

· Experience in the culture, maintenance, and manipulation of mammalian cells.

· Desirable: experience in basic molecular biology techniques such as plasmid isolation, cloning, gel electrophoresis or other relevant techniques e.g. ELISA, PCR.

· Desirable: Experience with virus construction or production.

· Ability to carefully follow protocols and standard operating procedures.

· Proficient in MS Office packages, such as Excel, Word, Outlook and PowerPoint.

· Able to work independently and as part of a team.

· Proven organizational skills, self-motivation and attention to detail.

· Good written and oral communication skills.
