The National Trust looks after 22% of Northern Ireland’s coastline, 46 sq miles of countryside, including Slieve Donard and the Giants Causeway, and historic family homes such as Mount Stewart, Castle Ward and Florence Court. We have over 100,000 members in Northern Ireland and welcome over 1 million visitors a year.
We’re looking for an experienced marketing and communications specialist to join our team and promote a much-loved brand while encouraging supporters to visit, join, donate and volunteer.
This is a 2-year fixed-term contract.
What it's like to work here:Rowallane Garden in Saintfield is just a short drive from Belfast city centre. Spanning 52 acres and surrounded by a further 140 acres of farmland, it is home to rare and exotic plants, creating a sense of discovery and adventure around every corner.
You’ll help deliver a marketing and communications strategy to support the places we look after, working closely with our property teams. Your work will spark conversations, provide compelling reasons to visit and drive awareness of our charity’s cause. You'll thrive on the challenge of balancing competing demands.
What you'll be doing:You’ll join our Regional Marketing and Communications team and create content to help bring our places to life for our audiences. You'll help to lead and inspire by coaching colleagues based at our places to improve their marketing skills and knowledge. You’ll work collaboratively with marketing and communications teams across the organisation to ensure plans are integrated, creating content for owned, earned and paid channels and evaluating the impact of your work.
Who we're looking forWe're looking for someone with the following skills & experience, please provide evidence in the online application form:
- Significant experience in communications, public relations and digital marketing - a self-starter, with the ability to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Planning and delivering audience-first, integrated marketing and communications plans (across web, social media, press, paid) to deliver business goals & proficiency in evaluating marketing activity and demonstrating impact.
- Developing trusted relationships with a diverse range of colleagues and using your professional experience and expert knowledge to influence as well as provide advice and solutions.
- A strong copywriter with a natural flair for creativity, keeping up with trends, innovative approach and ability to inspire others.
- Using a web content management system to create web content and optimise it for search engine performance (SEO).
- Training and supporting content providers on key systems that support the production and evaluation of digital marketing.
- Advising internal stakeholders on how to mitigate reputational risk & working with the media to promote and protect our brand and reputation.
