Morrison Energy Services is currently looking to recruit an Operations Manager to work on our nationwide Electrical Transmission Frameworks.
As an Operations Manager you will be part of our Electrical Transmission Management Team who are responsible for managing the civil and electrical delivery teams working on behalf of clients including National Grid and SSE. This key role will be responsible for managing a construction focused team to support the company’s drive to deliver projects safely, to programme and within budget, on a range of New Infrastructure and Grid Connection EPC projects.
Our Electrical Transmission business unit is delivering projects throughout the UK through existing secured EPC and M&E frameworks, and the business unit aims to expand through securing additional frameworks which brings with it associated opportunities for professional development and career progression.
As an Operations Manager your duties & responsibilities will include:
- Strategic health, safety and environmental management and leadership to drive the highest standards
- Management and development of processes and procedures for sustained quality delivery
- Ensure the compliance of the operational team with company and client systems and processes
- Development of clear strategy for growth of delivery capacity and capability including internal operational delivery, and subcontract and supply chain partners
- Work closely with the planning team to ensure delivery plans and programmes are in place
- Drive the operations team ethos to ensure the construction management, commercial management, design leads and project engineers function as a cohesive operational delivery team
- Implement and maintain a culture of client satisfaction
- Drive the management of risk through the operational delivery of projects
- Provide leadership and guidance on technical and operational matters
- Contribute to new contract tender bids using industry knowledge
- Support the senior management team to develop annual business objectives
- Line management of direct reports
- Champion new and innovative operational solutions
Skills & Knowledge Requirements:
- Previous operations management experience gained within electrical infrastructure
- Knowledge of the Electrical Transmission and Distribution industry is essential
- Able to demonstrate operational delivery of a portfolio of projects of varying values and complexities
- Excellent communication and presentation skills
- Good relationship management and stakeholder engagement skills
- Appreciation and understanding of commercial management
- Must be flexible, able to work and learn independently, and communicate well with a cross functional team
- A full driving licence and willingness to travel frequently
