Description
About the role
We have an opportunity for a Senior Structural Engineer to assist in establishing a new structural engineering team within our Birmingham studio and join the growing civil and structural engineering group in our North region. This role seeks to embed structural engineering within our Birmingham design studio, delivering our current workload and supporting our work winning strategy across the region.
Our aspiration as engineers is to design inspiring buildings in which our engineering ideas help shape design rather than simply facilitate the delivery of an architect-led solution. We aim to design structures with minimum impact on the planet and maximum value for our clients.
You will play an active role in the creation of buildings and undertake a variety of technical tasks on diverse projects, across a number of sectors that include healthcare, education, retail and workplace.
About you
We are looking for a passionate and dedicated senior structural engineer with excellent design, technical, and software skills that enjoys working collaboratively in multi-professional design teams. In this role you will be involved with the development of designs and the production of construction information for the delivery of major national and international projects.
You will assist our management team in the development and growth of the new team, working with our multi-disciplinary teams to create new opportunities and expand our client base across the region.
You will be a Chartered or near Chartered Senior Structural Engineer with relevant experience within a leading design firm that includes developing structural designs for building structures across all construction sectors.
You will have good communication skills, be self organised, have a passion for structural design, enjoy working within a motivated team, and have an enthusiasm for architecture and building design.
You will be able to demonstrate excellent technical aptitude and have experience in use of varied structural design analysis software. Experience of Tekla Structures, TEDDS, Staad PRO and Etabs would be beneficial.
Experience of working within a BIM environment is desirable with knowledge of Revit beneficial.
