Job Title: Fire Safety Advisor

Location: Wayside House/ Working from home
Shifts: Monday - Friday
Hours: 09:00 - 17:00 (37.5 hrs per week)

This is a Temporary Role
What you’ll be responsible for:
- Be able to undertake fire risk assessments across all Trust owned or occupied premises and disseminate “significant findings” produce and monitor an effective action plan as necessary.
- Be able to produce and deliver training presentations in fire safety for NHS and contractual staff (appropriate to their responsibilities) in liaison with the Senior Fire Safety Officer and Training department.
- Develop and roll out a comprehensive training programme for and oversee the appointment of ‘Responsible Persons/ Fire Wardens’ within buildings across the Trust. They will act as a focal point for staff on issues of fire safety, to provide support to responsible managers on fire safety issues, to assist with coordination of the response to an incident, is responsible for roll call in the event of an incident and be trained to tackle fire with first aid fire-fighting equipment where appropriate.
- Be able to review and improve the Trusts fire policies and contribute to the development maintenance and implementation of robust and effective fire safety protocols, procedures and action plans.
- Be able to provide fire safety advice to the Senior Fire Safety Officer, Trust Estates and Capital Planning Management.
- Any other duties assigned from time to time commensurate with the grade.
The role will involve, but not be limited to you performing the above.
You’ll have the following skills/experience:
- Fire Safety Qualifications
- Experience in assisting in the delivery of fire safety programmes
- Comfortable with remote/home working
- Experience of working in the NHS
- Excellent communication
- Excellent organisation skills
- Confident using Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel
