Location: Uttoxeter – Elkes Biscuits
Salary up to £63,000 depending on experience
Monday to Friday (site based)
About Us:
We are currently recruiting for an experienced and diligent Financial Controller to lead an established finance team at our Uttoxeter site.
We provide retailer own label biscuits to all the major retailers including Tesco, Asda, Morrisons, Marks and Spencer, Sainsbury’s, Aldi and Lidl in addition to the Elkes brand.
Elkes Biscuits has real heritage in both the local area and within the industry. In the early 1900s Samuel Elkes opened a confectionery shop in Uttoxeter and in 1928 a purpose-built biscuit factory was opened on the current site. The bakery is known for the biscuit barrel and is the home of the Malted Milk biscuits along with producing Ginger biscuits, Farley's Rusks, Custard Creams, Chocolate Digestive Bars, Oaties and Digestives.
We operate 24/7 so we’re looking for a team player who thrives in a fast-paced manufacturing environment and is driven to support the wider team.
About the Role:
Reporting into the Finance Director, the Financial Controller will be responsible for developing and maintenance of financial controls and processes for the business, ensuring accurate finance data and leading a team of six to streamline processes and implement improvements where needed.
This will be a diverse role, with duties including production of weekly, monthly, and annual P&L/balance sheet reporting, management of cashflow and payroll processing.
The Financial Controller will also be responsible for collaboration with management to establish more effective processes and controls to ensure the integrity of the company’s financial records.
About You:
To excel in this role, you will need to demonstrate a background in Financial Management and team leadership, ideally within an FMCG or fast paced environment. You will be ACCA or ACMA qualified and possess excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
Strong process and project management skills will be a must as well as the ability to influence changes across departments.
