Our Role
As a Civils Operative, you will be responsible for digging and working as part of the City Fibre contract. You will provide technical expertise, experience and work within a team to deliver a first-class service to our customers.
As a Civils Operative, you will be competent in working on Utilities Civils projects. You will be able to engineer solutions on site and focus your gang on completing work right first time.
You will work with the scheduling team ensuring programmes are met and delivered accordingly. You will provide support to ensure that the company’s work is effectively completed through communication with internal and external customers, as well as focusing on the customer’s needs
Key Responsibilities
We are looking for someone who:
· Has good knowledge of site safety and site set ups; with the public and team members welfare being essential
· Has the knowledge and experience of working on utility projects
· Will maintain a customer focus whilst working
· Who has good timekeeping and good housekeeping with tools and equipment
· Can use GARD (smartphone system) to deliver all feedback for commercial and, where necessary, reinstatement feedback
· Will liaise with the Support Services and Street works Team to ensure that FPN and Section74 liabilities are managed and focus on a right first-time attitude
Experience and Qualifications
· NRSWRA Operative
· Deep excavations
· Mini excavator up to 10 tone/above beneficial
· Safe Dig/Cable avoidance accreditation (EUSR Preferred)
· Manual Handling
· First Aid
· Confined spaces
· Abrasive wheels
· Dumper
· Full UK Driving Licence with towing capacity for digger
