What you’ll do as a Digital Communications intern with us:
We are always looking to improve our ways of working in relation to digital engagement with our consumers and customers. We are looking for a Digital Communications Intern to help us do exactly that.
As a Digital Communications Intern, you will be working with the Corporate Affairs team to review, refine and reinvent our approach to digital communications including email marketing, website and social media for our pub business Star Pubs & Bars.
What we offer is a 3-month paid internship, offering you real, hands-on commercial experience with one of the country’s leading FMCG companies. You’ll address real world problems – driving real world results. You’ll have the opportunity to build strong stakeholder management skills and forge a strong network for future career opportunities. We want you to flourish in this role, and you will be closely supported by both a key business stakeholder and a mentor within the Digital function.
This is a great opportunity to join one of the most exciting businesses in FMCG today, and at a crucial time in our development – as we push ahead with a full new product development programme, activate key sponsorships over the summer and deliver a number of corporate business and sustainability promises.
What we are looking for in you:
We are looking for someone who embodies the following qualifications, skills, and experience:
- Degree in PR, digital marketing, media, journalism, related field, or equivalent practical experience
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with an eye for detail
- Strong analytical skills to help analyse and improve existing processes
- Driven to keep up to date with the latest digital communication and marketing trends and best practices
- The ability to challenge the status quo and the drive to bring a fresh perspective to established processes
Bonus points if you meet the following criteria:
- Experience with working with websites based on content management systems e.g. Sitecore
- Experience of or an interest in creating content for social media channels
- An active interest in multi-channel corporate communications and trends in this area
As this role is office/site based, please note we currently operate a hybrid working framework which allows us to capture the benefits of both working in the office and at home. For full time roles, we work a minimum of 3 days in the office, a Tuesday and Thursday are for all, with the third day being defined by the colleague.

This is why we have a smarter working policy in place which includes access to hybrid working, flexible start and finish times and condensed hours, to name a few.
