Job description

We are now looking for a Graduate Project Managers to join our team based in Birmingham.

This position is to start in September 2023 but could be before. First stage of our interview process shall be an assessment center in March, followed by an in business interview.

Project management is the application of processes, methods, skills, knowledge and experience to achieve specific project objectives according to the project acceptance criteria within agreed parameters. Project management has final deliverables that are constrained to a finite timescale and budget.

A key factor that distinguishes project management from just 'management' is that it has this final deliverable and a finite timespan, unlike management which is an ongoing process. Because of this a project professional needs a wide range of skills; often technical skills, and certainly people management skills and good business awareness.

Project managers are now employed in almost every industry and sector in the country. In the UK the digital/IT sector and construction/infrastructure sectors are some of the largest and most established users of project management techniques.

That's because a lot of the work has that clear 'start and end' that requires project management, rather than just ongoing management. If you join our programme, you'll specialise in rail and other significant national infrastructure.

Profile

  • A love of systems, processes and order
  • The ability to get people to work with you, resolve problems and reach agreement
  • A focus on getting things done even when it feels difficult, to meet deadlines and targets
  • Feel comfortable working with both complex numerical and technical language and information
  • Right to work in the UK is required
  • Must live in the Birmingham Area

We are committed to our planet

In each project we design, engineer and operate we care deeply about the legacy we’re leaving behind. As part of our team, you’ll have a unique opportunity to use your skills and expertise to shape a better future for our communities in the UK, and all around the globe.

Our commitment is translated in the work carried out by our Egis Foundation, which funds concrete actions to address the climate crisis and is focused on educational and social initiatives that will help in the responsible and sustainable shift towards a sustainable world.

Equality, Diversity & Inclusion

We are an Equal Opportunities employer and we strive to build a workforce that truly reflects the communities we represent. We welcome candidates from all backgrounds, regardless of age, disability, gender, gender identity, gender expression, race, religion or belief, sexual orientation, socioeconomic background, and any other protected characteristic.
