Apprenticeship – Project Management - Energy Portfolio Management (Sep 2023 Intake)

Base Location: Perth, Edinburgh, Glasgow

Salary: £21,054 + a range of other benefits to support your family, finances, and wellbeing.

About the Role

EPM is the commercial heart of the SSE group with an exciting transformation programme of change over the next 2-3 years. If you thrive in a fast moving, diverse, agile delivery environment this could be the job for you.

In alignment with our growth plans, we are looking for a Project Management Apprentice within our Energy Portfolio Management team. This team focuses on delivering change and is responsible for end to end delivery of projects as well as ensuring they deliver value to the business.

Reporting into the Portfolio Optimisation Manager once trained, you'll ensure that during project lifecycles the project is focused on delivery, escalating blockers, highlighting risks, understanding dependencies and ensuring all governance activities from and Business and It side of the project have been completed whilst at the same time, ensure that the project continues to deliver Value to the business.

This Level 4 Apprenticeship is designed to develop apprentices into tomorrow’s Product Owners. During this 12 month-long programme, you will receive comprehensive training which will enable you to develop your skills and technical knowledge, allowing you to achieve industry accreditations. Whilst on this apprenticeship programme you will develop: Please update below as appropriate

  • Interpersonal and people skills through collaboration and teamwork
  • Communication skills through a wide range of stakeholder engagement
  • Organisational skills such as the scheduling of meetings
  • Technology skills through the use of MS applications
  • Attention to detail by completing tasks accurately and consistently

Whilst at work, you will get the opportunity to put your training into practise. Throughout your time at SSE, your training will be delivered by one of our training partners and will be delivered over 12 months via a hybrid model of both virtual and face to face delivery.

  • Numerate – the nature of the role means there is a lot of numbers, be it commercial values, traded volumes, statistics, KPIs etc
