Care is Central is currently looking to grow our dedicated team of Care Support Workers, working primarily in our Independent Living Scheme at All Saints View in Houghton Regis. We are looking for dedicated full-time and part-time care support workers to join us and help make a difference in the lives of our residents.
As a care support worker, your role is to support older and vulnerable people to live happy, positive and independent lives in a safe and compassionate way.
Duties may include:
- Preparing snacks and meals for residents
- Tidying the home and helping with basic housekeeping tasks
- Taking your client to appointments, shopping, and other social engagements
- Offering companionship – listening and talking with your client, you’ll be amazed by their stories!
- Providing compassionate and dignified personal care (bathing, dressing etc.)
- Administering medication to help keep your client in the best state of health
- Engaging with residents and their families to continuously develop care plans
- Being resilient, attentive, and ensuring our residents are treated with the dignity and care they deserve
You will be located at our scheme in Houghton Regis although you will be expected to sometimes travel and work at other scheme locations in Central Bedfordshire as necessary.
Requirements:
No previous experience is necessary. Outside of the ability to laugh, work well in a team, and have good time management and genuine empathy towards people, you will need:
- To be eligible to work in the UK
- Have a good level of English
- A genuine passion for supporting others to lead happy and healthy lives.
Full training will be provided, and you will be mentored by an experienced carer for two weeks to ensure you are confident in your role.
