Ecus is looking for candidates to join the expanding archaeology team based in our North-East region office and post-excavation hub at Barnard Castle.
We are seeking dynamic and resilient individuals looking for a new challenge, and who want to develop their skills and take on a wide variety of projects and tasks. Working alongside our Environmental teams, there will be many opportunities for progression and training.
We are keen to engage applicants with more than a year of commercial fieldwork experience, but will consider less experienced individuals seeking a graduate position and early career training.

Essential skills / experience
- Good knowledge of British archaeology and practices;
- Current driving licence and access to a private vehicle preferred;
- Current CSCS card;
- Positive approach towards digital recording and technological advancements;
- Strong work ethic, ability to work in a team, multi-task, and work proactively and flexibly in support of changing workloads;
- Positive approach to a range of activities including excavations, geophysical survey and post-excavation processing;
- Ability to attend the Barnard castle office;
- Willingness to work outside region;
- Ability to handle confidential information; and
- Punctuality
