We are recruiting for an experienced Business Analyst to work within the IT Strategy and Projects team. IT & Digital is central to where we are going as a university and has a big part in supporting the University's Road to 2030 strategy. The work we do impacts significantly on both the personal and learning experience of those who study here. We are committed to developing and maintaining highly usable, fast, flexible and personalised Information Systems services that reflect the changing needs of our growing university, and this role helps us to give projects the best start we can.
About the role:
You will work with IT projects managers, other IT staff and business stakeholders to deliver business analysis activities for IT projects and other areas as required. This will involve all aspects of the business process model from investigating solutions as requests for work come into IT, to defining high level and detailed requirements for high cost, high impact projects. Ensuring standards and quality of business analysis documentation remains consistent and high, you will also be able to relate documentation to a wide range of audiences across the University. You will always have an eye on efficiency and process improvement as you engage with the many stakeholders you will encounter during this role, and be able to point out areas that require improvement and document and suggest improvements yourself. Other tasks include supporting procurement processes (NFRs for tenders in particular), and making sure requirements are met both by working with our Test team to create and sign off test scripts, and supporting post delivery reviews.

- High level of experience of end-to-end business analysis delivery
- Demonstrable experience of requirements engineering, ideally in both waterfall and Agile environments, for both IT and business requirements.
- Demonstrable experience of process modelling, particularly BPMN, and ability to tailor views depending on the audience
- A sound understanding of applying critical thinking
- Stakeholder management experience up to senior level
