A Business Analyst is required on a 12month Fixed Term temporary basis role paying £43,052.57 plus £2,835.11 London Allowance per annum with the British Transport Police (BTP) based in Force Headquarters, London.
BTP is the national police Force for the rail network throughout Great Britain, including London Underground, across which we ensure the safety and security of nearly 3 billion passenger journeys and over 100 million tons of freight every year. The world in which we work is fast-paced, operationally and commercially demanding, and constantly changing. As a Business Analyst with BTP you will aim to investigate and evaluate areas of improvement across the force and gain customer requirements for new data products and services. The Business Analyst will work across the force gaining insight on departmental and force wide priorities.
As Business Analyst you will be required to:

Undertakes analytical activities and delivers analysis outputs, in accordance with customer needs.

Maintains knowledge of developments in data science, providing detailed advice regarding their application.

Defines scope and business priorities for small-scale changes and may assist in larger scale scoping exercises.

Elicits and discovers requirements from operational management and other stakeholders.

Able to use Visio or similar tools to develop and communicate process workflows for business and system improvements

An undergraduate degree in a relevant discipline, preferably with strong statistics or analytical element

Experience of producing statistical and business reports, both alone and as part of a wider team.

Proven experience of responding to detailed information requests.

Proven analytical experience gained through work experience or educational background.

BTP has undertaken a review of Police Staff pensions and as a result of this the Police Staff pension will be changing. The current police staff pension is a Defined Benefit scheme which is administered by the Railways Pension scheme. The new pension scheme which is launching is a Defined Contribution scheme which is administered by Royal London.
