The Maintenance Planning Team is recruiting for a Maintenance Technician in the Central Scotland (Glasgow/ Edinburgh), location flexible depending on the right applicant. Do you love a challenge? You will be part of a proactive team based throughout Scotland who ensures effective planning, scheduling, and delivery of MEICA planned maintenance for Scottish Water’s operational assets.
Role purpose
Continuously review planned and essential MEICA maintenance activities to allow the asset owners and operators to achieve optimum lifecycle operation of equipment.
To collate key site information to assess operational and maintenance risks.
Ensure that maintenance plans comply with maintenance policy and strategy.
Responsible for providing regular updates on maintenance compliance, cost of failure, key performance risks, and capital and operational data returns.
Responsible for developing a deliverable maintenance plan.
Liaise with key stakeholders to ensure capital and operational modifications are incorporated into Ellipse, planned maintenance activities are updated as required and delivery risks are mitigated.
Update legacy maintenance plans in accordance with best practice and current maintenance strategy. This includes reassessments triggered by capital data returns, site status changes and/or triggered by site maintenance reviews.
Liaise with stakeholders to carry out Root Cause Analysis of repeatedly failing equipment.
Carry out quality assurance audits for the Maintenance Planning programme of works.
Liaising with planned maintenance delivery partners to ensure efficient delivery of the maintenance and follow on work.
Essential Skills
Customer focussed and always seeking continuous improvement
Excellent communication skills and effective stakeholder management
In depth knowledge of MEICA planned maintenance strategies
Understand of Risk Based Maintenance methodologies
Knowledge of water and wastewater processes, including sufficient knowledge to identify:
Main Functions & Sub Functions (e.g. chemical dosing – lime dosing)
Equipment failure probability, consequences and risks (redundancy)
Understand maintenance requirements and techniques, including;
Regulatory requirements
Health, Safety & Environment requirements
Knowledge of best practice maintenance activities, including;
Non-intrusive techniques
Condition monitoring
Critical spares
Manufacturer recommendations
Experience in data analysis processes and techniques
Experience in end to end works management processes such as Maintenance Schedule Tasks
(MSTs) & customer driven activities
Computer literate with a working knowledge of Microsoft Office suite
Have a current full driving licence
Desirable Skills
HNC Electrical/ Mechanical Engineering or equivalent experience in a similar role
Electrical knowledge of IET regulations, fault finding and installations.
Knowledge/experience of Ellipse, PowerBI & Salesforce
Curiosity to keep up to date on improvements to industry best practice including:
Salary Scale: £31,380 - £43,350
