Your role:
An exciting opportunity has arisen for anyone looking to take their first step into a business-facing HR role as an HR Advisor within The Sun.
Your team:
Reporting to HR Business Partners, The Sun, you will be supporting The Sun and other business areas, and the HRBPs within those teams, working closely with the wider People team and business managers.
Day to day you will:
Support the HRBPs in all people-related processes - supporting the employee lifecycle from start to finish.
Working with the business/Finance/HRBPs, manage and oversee the process surrounding all financial and compensation business requirements and supporting paperwork.
Work alongside the HRBPs, supporting the processes surrounding organisational structure redesign.
Work with HRBPs on the the implementation of the year end compensation planning process.
Support HRBPs and work with the wider HR team on process and decisions relating to complex cases with financial or legal risks, e.g. redundancies, grievances, disciplinary actions. Ultimately progressing to managing these processes on your own.
Reinforce policies and practices – promptly escalate and assist to resolve issues.
Be the first point of contact for your client group’s HR queries; providing advice to management on employee relations and management issues.
Work with your HRBPs to interpret and present HR data, which will be used to make strategic recommendations to the client groups.
Work closely with the Administration teams in HR to ensure ‘HR basics’ are achieved in a timely and consistent manner.
Picking up ad hoc duties as and when required to ensure the success of the People team and its strategy.
What we’re looking for from you:
Someone who is looking to take their first step into a business-facing role, supporting the HRBPs to help drive HR initiatives and projects.
You will have good problem-solving skills, strong administrative skills and the ability to prioritise between competing priorities.
You will have assisted a People team in a support role.
Excellent communication skills and the ability to talk to people at all levels and offer first line advice in line with the company values.
Sound knowledge or a desire to learn UK employment law.
Proactive and enthusiastic approach to all things people!
