Buying Assistant
Swindon
An exciting opportunity has arisen to join the High Street News & Impulse team team based in Swindon.
This role will enable you to work cross functionally with many areas of the business and would suit someone with a great eye for detail and a good level of communication skills. This is great for someone who wants to get a taste of how a buying function works. You will be the glue that holds the department together, with flexibility to make the role your own. We welcome anyone, who has the orgnaisational skills to get things done.
What you’ll be doing:
Running weekly supplier reports
Setting up weekly promotional triggers (e.g. BOGOHP) in our promotions system, along with voucher offers and pre-orders for key new releases
Dealing and answering store queries
Supporting the team with administrative duties
Working closely with the buying team to update Promotional space for stores
Using our database system Teradata to run queries
Sample management and management of the merchandising center for category area
Liaising with suppliers regarding new products & product queries
Attending when required supplier meetings, taking and sending out minutes
Critical path support and management where required
What we are looking for:
Experience of MS Office programmes, specifically Word and Excel (ability to perform Vlookups highly beneficial)
Strong organising and prioritising skills
High attention to detail
Previous experience in a similar role
Quick learner
Unafraid to seek the right person and ask for help
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Ability to work to tight deadlines
Ability to manage time and resources effectively
