JOB PURPOSE
To deliver high quality and commercial HR generalist advice and support to all employees and management on all parts of the employee lifecycle including complex employment relations issues, talent and succession and learning and development.
To be accountable for ensuring key cyclical activities are delivered within the UK Division.
To champion continuous improvement in all HR activities. This role provides both on-site and remote support to our teams in Ipswich and Liverpool, so travel is required.
To deputise in the absence of Head of HR and cover for the Senior HR Coordinator when required.
The Senior HR Advisor is to provide senior generalist support across the UK Agency and is expected to deal with the more complex cases escalated by the Senior HR Coordinator.
MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES
People Management and Organisation
- Provide direction and vision by empowering and motivating both direct and indirect reports to achieve success.
- Create an environment where everyone is enabled to perform to the best of their abilities.
Strategic HR
- Assist Head of HR in determining and delivering on HR’s strategic priorities.
- Delivering the D&I efforts at the local level.
- Supporting any business transformation activities within the UK Agency.
- Work closely with HR colleagues to identify and implement service improvements.
Employee Relations
- Provide expert employment law advice and guidance by maintaining up to date knowledge of relevant legislation and best practice.
- Manage complex casework issues of employees below SMT level, taking a proactive approach by providing timely and pragmatic interventions (including disciplinaries, grievances, absence management)
Recruitment
- Participate in a variety of recruitment activities so that the organisation recruitment process is efficient and effective.
- Providing end-to-end support to attract and secure the best talent.
L&D
- Identify training needs for functions/teams and collaborate with the L&D team to deliver solutions.
- Participate in evaluation and monitoring of training programs to ensure
success. Follow up to ensure training objectives are met.
- Create and deliver internal training sessions.
KPIs and Management Information
- To influence business decisions with the effective use of data.
- To support the continual development of KPI and MI data.
- To work with Head of HR, GA and IT and to play lead role in blending data collated from HR trackers and company information systems information to promote discussion and decision making within HR.
SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS
- Ideally be CIPD qualified (Level 5) or have a degree level qualification (essential)
- Experience of complex employee relations/generalist HR advice and guidance to managers (essential)
- Extensive knowledge and understanding of employment law and HR best practice (essential)
