We are seeking to appoint a Research Assistant to join the lab of Prof Ilan Davis to apply computational methods in order to analyse large imaging datasets. This post will involve working as part of a team with lab members and collaborators in order to better understand already acquired data and using this information to make predictions of future targets for further research.
You will hold a degree in a relevant scientific field and be a skilled programmer, with strong ability in Python or R and a track-record of applying those skills to bioinformatic and AI projects. Experience in managing large imaging datasets and a knowledge of neuroscience is essential to this post, as are strong mathematical skills. As this post necessitates working with other lab members and collaborators, a track record of working with others successfully is required. Only researchers with a record of research publication in peer-reviewed journals will be considered for this role, and any microscopy experience would be a definite advantage.
This full-time fixed term post is funded by the Wellcome Trust until 1st December 2023 in the first instance and is based at the Department of Biochemistry, South Parks Road, Oxford.
