Primary Care Network (PCN) PCN Finance Assistant supporting PCN Finance Manager
Location: Greater Derby Primary Care Network (PCN)

Reporting to: PCN Finance Manager
Background to the Role
PCNs were formed as part of the NHS long-term plan. PCNs are developing to bring together general practice in geographical networks covering populations of approximately 30-50,000 patients.
Core objectives of each PCN are:
- To help recruit and retain staff, to remove pressure from existing and individual general practice units and to help with practice finances
- To move towards integrating the wider health and social care system
- To secure new ‘additionality roles’ funding from NHSE to recruit clinical pharmacists, social prescribers, physiotherapists and other allied health care professionals
- To focus on service delivery. This to include improving patient access, extending the scope of services available to patients and working with other health and social care providers to ensure best use of available resources
- To deliver a national service specification
PCNs are established by the geographical group of GP Practices signing up to the NHSE Network Contract Direct Enhanced Service. PCNs are however not required to be a formal body/legal entity.

We are now looking for a Finance assistant to work with the PCN leadership.
Key working relationships
- GP Practices within the PCN
- ARRS staff within the PCN
- Practice Leaders (Partners and Practice Managers)
- Integrated Care Board (ICB) and NHSE
Main duties of the job
- Data entry on accounting and payroll software
- Invoices and remittances
- Chasing payments, ensuring all claiming takes place
- Supporting Finance Manager
- Administrative work including communications with PCN Practices and Board
Essential Criteria
- Experience of book keeping on software
- Experience of Payroll administration on software
- Good communicator
- Able to work independantly
- IT literate
Desirable Criteria
- Full working knowledge of GP IRIS PAYROLL and ACCOUNTING software
This role is within the PCN area of Practices in GREATER DERBY and based within. Hours of work are flexible and no weekend work is required. Please note this is not a Tier 2 sponsored role and you will have the appropriate visa/eligbility to work in the UK to apply
