Job Description

We have a fantastic opportunity for a Warehouse Operative to join our team based in Bradford. You will join us on a full-time, permanent basis, and in return, you will receive a competitive of £24,000 per annum plus benefits.

About the Warehouse Operative role:

As our Warehouse Operative / Forklift Driver, you will be responsible for the safe operation of the forklift truck, the purpose of the job is to move, load and unload a variety of goods to/from trailers and within the warehouse in a safe manner.

You will assist with general warehouse operative duties (to receive, handle and dispatch) by contributing as part of a warehouse team to ensure the smooth operation of the warehouse and practicing safe working practices.

Responsibilities as our Warehouse Operative will include:

  • Correctly receiving, handling, and dispatching cargo in a timely and efficient manner
  • Operating a forklift truck safely - Loading and unloading trailers
  • Manually unloading and loading cartons when required
  • Assessing the condition of the vehicle to be loaded to ensure it is safe and suitable for its purpose
  • Manually securing wrap cartons to pallets when required
  • Maintaining a good working environment in a safe and tidy manner
  • Fulfilling company policy on security and quality.
  • Inspecting cargo condition, completing necessary paperwork reporting any damage and discrepancies
  • Ensuring relevant administrative procedures are followed as instructed by your manager
  • Working within the company’s operational procedures, and statutory requirements including the provision and maintenance of a safe working environment
  • Ensuring legislative compliance in all areas
  • Contributing to shift ensuring good teamwork and high standards
  • Always following safety rules, avoiding improvisation, and complying with the health and safety policy
  • Additional tasks and responsibilities will be required within reason to support the needs and requirements of the business.

What we are looking for in our Warehouse Operative:

  • Valid Forklift Licence
  • Warehouse/Fork driving experience
  • Shunter experience
  • Experienced in working in a busy warehouse environment
  • Experience in working within the distribution industry
  • Working hours: Monday to Friday. Shift work
  • Flexible, as you may be required to work weekends, your working hours will vary to meet business requirements
