What’s the opportunity?
Earning potential: £35k Basic with £6k shift allowance
Working Pattern: 4 on 4 off 6pm-6am 12 hour
About the role
As a Warehouse Shift Manager, you will be responsible for the successful delivery of the day-to-day warehouse operations at the site, ensuring the operation is running smoothly, and supporting the Warehouse Operation Managers with a variety of tasks that add value to the operation. You will also ensure all productivity, accuracy, and cost targets are met and exceeded, as well as manage and coordinate warehouse operations at the distribution centre. You’ll be well seasoned in doing shift briefs, able to drive performance in line with KPI’s and an engaged leader who can communicate across all levels of the business to ensure business critical messages are delivered accurately.
What you’ll need
- Thorough knowledge and hands on experience of a warehouse function within the FMCG Distribution Industry.
- A background operating at a management level is a must.
- A passion for encouraging teamwork, focusing on creating an innovative culture where all employees can voice their suggestions and ideas.
- Excellent team management skill for developing Team Leaders.
- An analytical mind-set.
- Flexibility to cover a variety of shift patterns in the future.
- You'll come in to contact with Trade Unions (previous experience with this would be beneficial)
What you’ll be doing
- Managing direct reports in a variety of areas, including but not limited to:Wellbeing meetings, long term sick management, return to work
Quality 121s
ER issues including conducting investigations, disciplinaries and grievances.
- Daily communication within the warehouse teams through meetings and briefings
- Promote safe operating and warehouse standards
- Championing the safety agenda at site
- Drive shift performance through the team leaders to achieve KPIs
- Responsible for delivery of operational KPIs. Maintain and improve performance levels to maximise efficiency of operation in line with account KPI's.
- Ensure all requirements relating to safety, health, environment and quality are being fully implemented in the warehouse or escalate.
