Due to expediential growth in our business, we have an exciting opportunity and are recruiting for a Tractor Driver who has a can-do attitude who will join an existing team based in and around Coventry and the surrounding areas.

As a Tractor Driver your responsibilities will include driving tractors, completing maintenance duties, and using farm implements to Mow, Flail Native Hedge rows, plant, harvest, spray pesticides, and more. You will report to the Contracts Manager and should be comfortable working alone for long periods. To be successful as a tractor driver, you should have good concentration skills and excellent hand-eye coordination. Outstanding tractor drivers are detail-oriented and demonstrate strength as well as active listening skills.
An element of this position will also be carrying out Grounds Maintenance activities, as and when required. You will provide support to the line manager in relation to the team’s compliance of company procedures and policies as well as ensuring that the requirements of the client and the specification are fully met for the enjoyment, recreation and safety of the sites, employees and visitors. You will be working ‘hands-on’ with a small team of gardeners to provide a top-class horticultural environment for our clients.
What will your day look like?
- Driving and carrying out regular maintenance and repairs of tractors and other farm implements
- Operating tractors safely and efficiently
- Performing inspections of tractors and attachments including graders, rollers, and plows, and ensuring they are well-lubricated
- Using tractors to transport materials and pull or push agricultural equipment
- Operating tractors with mowing equipment to prepare large sports fields
- Reporting any faults or concerns to the Contracts Manager and other relevant stakeholders
- Remaining alert while driving and servicing the tractor, and maintaining the appropriate speed limit at all times
- Completing minor repairs on tractor and farm equipment
Skills and experiences:
- Ability to work as part of a team or on their own
- Full driving licence with relevant requirements is essential
- Extensive knowledge of heavy-duty equipment
- Previous experience performing maintenance on tractors and other farming equipment
- Ability to identify and react appropriately to hazards
- Ability to implement Health & Safety requirements to ensure safe working practices to enable smooth running of works on site
- Ability to work as part of a team or on their own
- Full driving licence with relevant requirements is essential
- Extensive knowledge of heavy-duty equipment
- Previous experience performing maintenance on tractors and other farming equipment
- Ability to identify and react appropriately to hazards
- Ability to implement Health & Safety requirements to ensure safe working practices to enable smooth running of works on site
