What’s in it for you

  • Financial Reward: Competitive salary, pension contribution of 3%, income protection, death in service insurance, shopping discounts, financial assistance programme, employee referral scheme, Techscheme, season ticket loan
  • Work / Life Balance: Unlimited holiday, hybrid working, flexible working, birthday leave

How you will contribute to the team

As a reporter you will be in a tight-knit editorial team, working on a range of intellectual property law titles including World IP Review and Life Sciences IP Review.

You will write articles and news for our websites and publications.

You will need to be an excellent writer, ideally with knowledge of data journalism and the life sciences industry.

You will also be comfortable with, or happy to learn, conducting broadcast interviews over a webcam and moderating panel discussions. Training will be provided.

Market outreach is a key element of the role, and you will be expected to be confident in speaking to senior lawyers on a regular basis.

You will need to be organised and understand complex subject matter quickly.

A good sense of humour, honesty, being easy to work with and being a good communicator, particularly when remote working, are traits that will be looked at favourably.

Requirements

About you and what you’ll need

The role would suit someone with one or two years of experience in B2B journalism and editing, but we would also consider recent graduates who can demonstrate particular aptitude.

The successful applicant will:

  • Have a good understanding of data and its utility
  • Be organised and comfortable working across multiple projects concurrently
  • Be willing to tackle new topics and learn quickly
  • Be comfortable with recording interviews over Zoom/Google Hangouts
  • Able to get through gatekeepers

  • Be diligent and accurate at all times with excellent attention to detail
  • Be able to write features to a high standard
  • Able to work autonomously/without “handholding”
  • Flexible and agile – able to adapt to new situations and quickly adopt new technologie

You will consider attention to detail a key measure of success and have the ability to communicate with external stakeholders of all levels in a professional and friendly manner. The capability to thrive under pressure will ensure success in this role as working on multiple projects simultaneously will be required.

We are looking for a tenacious team player that is confident in taking ownership of their responsibilities, but even more confident in asking for help when they need it.

What we’d like you to have but won’t be a deal breaker

And most importantly…

  • Be a friendly and honest person with a cheerful disposition
  • Be a good communicator who seeks clarity from colleagues

We will ensure you have all the equipment you need to do your job.

We encourage our employees to develop their careers with us as we grow as a company. We provide on the job training, access to professional qualifications and targeted training courses. We love to promote from within and are very open to changes of role and will always encourage employees to apply internally for new roles.
