CAD Draftsman
Loughborough
£35,000 - £40.000
Elite Recruitment are currently recruiting for a CAD Darugtsman to work for a rapidly growing structural business based in Loughborough.
- The successful candidate will have a varied role which will include:
Reviewing customer drawings for feasibility
- Liaising with customers to modify drawings to suit manufacturing processes
- Aiding customers with product design
- Converting drawings to 2D blanks
- Converting models to 2D blanks
- Produce 2D & 3D drawings of components for in house use.
- Preparing CNC laser and punch programs for quoting and manufacturing
- Fixture design and improvement for in house use, welding, machining etc.
- Brake press tooling design for in house use.
- 3D software - Solid Works
- 2D software - Trutops for use with Trumpf laser and brake press
- Develop knowledge of brake press, welding & other manufacturing processes.
- Liaising with quality department on new parts to meet PPAP requirements
- Liaising with production departments to meet new part development requirements.
- Investigate tooling improvements with suppliers & identify tools for future projects.
The ideal candidate:
- Knowledge of CAD software in particular AutoCad or SolidWorks would be advantageous, as would Amada based software knowledge
- Someone ambitious who is looking to grow with the company and is always striving for improvements in all aspects of business
- Must have experience working in the structural industry
- A creative individual who is keen to implement systems to streamline and improve our day to day operations
- Good time management is essential and being able to prioritise as this is a never-ending job and there will always be more to be done
- Good interpersonal skills - able to build and manage relationships with colleagues, customers and suppliers
- Ability to use a wide range of Microsoft Office packages particularly in the areas of Word, Excel and Outlook
