Are you looking for part time hours? The Catering department at University Queen Elizabeth Hospital Birmingham are recruiting for Ward Catering Operatives with the following hours available
- Monday to Friday 20 Hours (16:00 - 20:00)
- Saturday & Sunday 8 Hours (16:00 - 20:00)
In addition to the above permanent roles flexible working is available via UHB+
The post holder will be required to work across the hospital sites as part of their shift pattern
- Queen Elizabeth Hospital, Mindelsohn Way, Edgbaston, Birmingham, B15 2GW
- Norman Power Centre, Ladywood Rd, Birmingham, B16 8JJ
The successful applicant will need an independent means of transport (car, bus or rail) to travel to each location.
The role as a Ward Catering Operative you will be providing a quality food service and beverages to our patients at ward level.
You will also be responsible for kitchen cleaning and the standards of Hygiene within the kitchens at ward level and ensuring that the service complies with Food Safety legislation.
You will ensure that high quality Food Hygiene and cleaning standards are maintained at all times.
All candidates will work within team teams based at ward level and will need good communication skills to maintain working relationships within the team and present a positive and professional image to patients and visitors.
Provide high quality food and beverage service to all patients and customers following department process.
To ensure codes of practice for HACCP and food safety are followed as per site training.
Temperatures of regenerated cooked foods are recorded, along with chilled and frozen storage using the designated HACCP sheets.
Communicate menus and offer to patient & ward teams and customers.
Maintain excellent personal hygiene and uniform standards.
Identify and report faults as required to department supervisors or leads.
Maintain excellent cleaning standards within the working area following cleaning schedules supplied.
Check dates and rotation of food accordingly within working area.
Handling cleaning chemicals in accordance with COSHH and training provided.
