UX Research Lead

The UX research lead sits in the Product Design team to enable us to understand what our members want and need, providing key insight into member journeys and working closely with the different product teams to make sure that our products are aesthetically pleasing, and delight the end users of those products.. Putting our Members first, you will work closely with the Product Teams and their Product Managers, Product Designers and Tech Leads, to collaborate with different teams across Blue Light Card to understand where there are opportunities for improvements to the Blue Light Card product portfolio. This role will be pivotal in informing and inspiring the end user experience at Blue Light Card via the application of a variety of UX Research methods and techniques.

The Role
As an experience and accomplished UX Research Lead, you’ll
· Shape the way we move UX research forward at Blue Light Card strategically.
· Act as subject matter expert for user research by upskilling colleagues in user research, promoting the application of user research internally.
· Design, manage and lead user research projects to uncover insights and opportunities, understand current member needs and wants, and test potential design solutions before bringing them to fruition
· Work closely with a variety of business teams to identify and prioritize research questions based on analysis of current knowledge, project goals and risks.
· Champion user centred design by instilling a culture of member centric thinking within the product team, cross functionally and throughout the wider business.
· Create detailed research proposals and test plans to present to key stakeholders
· Present user insights and recommended solutions to project stakeholders at all levels
· Partner with design, product management and engineering to plan and prioritise research, and align it with strategic goals
· Champion a testing culture by using a range of qualitative and quantitative methodologies to make sure the right tests are conducted at appropriate times
· Develop in-depth knowledge of member journeys and lead on where these can be optimised further to enhance member experience.
· Own and lead the UX research roadmap, ensuring it is clearly defined, working closely with the lead product manager in prioritising value adding projects accordingly with the team.
· Keep up to date with the latest UX research industry trends and approaches to ensure best practice
What You’ll Bring
· Extensive experience in a UX Research role, with experience in different types of user research approaches and methodologies (e.g. user testing, card sorting, diary studies, focus groups, depth interviews, surveys)
· Experience with online user-testing software and tools
· Excellent communication and collaboration skills, ability to offer ideas, suggestions, and recommendations, verbal and written to key stakeholders
· Highly personable and able to build and maintain strong working relationships
· Comfortable learning quickly in a fast-paced environment with strong time-management skills, and the ability to prioritise tasks
· Ability to analyse and synthesise findings into clearly communicated, engaging and action focused outputs
· Clear passion for user research and human-centred design
Job Types: Full-time, Permanent
Salary: £75,000.00-£80,000.00 per year
