An exciting 12-month opportunity has arisen for a highly motivated and enthusiastic Assistant Psychologist to work within the North and South Community Learning Disability Teams in Coventry and Warwickshire Partnership NHS Trust, based in the Nuneaton and Leamington Spa areas.

As part of the multi-disciplinary teams you will share the goal of improving the lives and promoting health and independence for people with learning disabilities. Your role will be to support Psychologists within the teams to provide psychological assessment and psychological interventions under their supervision.
You will have the opportunity to work collaboratively with a range of different professionals and in a range of different settings e.g. in clients own homes, day service settings, supported living environments. You will also experience a range of different presentations, including behaviours that challenge, relationship problems, anxiety, depression, trauma experiences. You may be assisting to deliver psychological interventions through individual or group therapies or by delivering training and education. You may also have the opportunity to assist in clinically relevant administration, the conduct of audits, the collection of outcome statistics and other project work related to service development and improvement under the supervision of a Psychologist.
The teams work within a Positive Behavioural Support framework to ensure that effective, evidence-based interventions that are accessible and non-stigmatising, contribute to the specialist healthcare of people with learning disabilities within the locality.
