An exciting vacancy has arisen for a 1 Year fixed term position in the Mortuary.
This full time, 12-month post is for a Mortuary Support Officer.
The successful candidate will be based on the Watford site working Monday- Friday 08:00-16:00

The ideal candidate must demonstrate excellent written and verbal communication skills, with good attention to detail and the ability to multi-task.
The Mortuary team is looking for an individual who is committed to team working with a drive to achieve thoroughness and accuracy.
No previous experience is required.
Full in-house supervision and competency assessments will be given.
As a Mortuary support worker, you will be expected to assist the APT’s with:
- Care and physical handling of all
deceased patients.
- Complete daily cleaning of the department.
- Maintain accurate written and electronic records.
- Assist funeral directors.
- Speak to bereaved relatives on the telephone and in person
The Mortuary at Watford receives and cares for on average 1800 deceased patients per year.

The Mortuary support officer will be part of a team providing an efficient coordinated Mortuary services to the Trust and the Coroner’s service, providing a high standard of deceased patient care.
Following the appropriate training the post holder will be expected to participate in the handling and moving of deceased patients, admission and registration of deceased patients, preparation of deceased for viewing, release of deceased patient to undertakers. All daily cleaning duties.
