Job Description

Salary Banding: £22,209 pro rata (Increasing to £22,389 pro rata from September 2023 following a transitional pay award period)
The role is agile based between home and Middle Engine Lane in Wallsend
Part time – 18 hours per week

An excellent opportunity has arisen to join our Corporate Development Department as a Consultation (telephone survey) Interviewer.
This is an exciting time to join Northumbria Police as part of the Public Insight Team, who undertake research to understand the experience of service users and public attitudes to community safety and policing.

What will I be doing?
As a Consultation Interviewer, you will conduct telephone surveys with victims of crime and members of the public about the service they have received from Northumbria Police and partners to identify the needs and expectations of individuals and local communities.
You may also be required to support occasional focus groups and face-to-face surveys.
What do I need?
The ideal candidate will have experience conducting surveys and will preferably meet the following criteria:
  • Have excellent communication and listening skills.
  • Be able to record information quickly and accurately.
  • Have excellent planning skills with the ability to meet deadlines.
  • Have a basic knowledge of and experience using Microsoft Word and Excel to record information.
  • Previous experience contacting members of the public, such as in a contact/call centre is an asset but is not essential.

Shift Pattern:
Normal working hours will average 18 per week, covering the following shift pattern:
Tuesday-Thursday: 14:30 to 20:30

Vetting level:
Recruitment Vetting (RV)
