Job Description
We are looking for a video editor with a background in astronomy/space/astrophysics or anything other that relates to space! We run a well-established astronomy Youtube channel with over 1.3M subscribers and are looking for our next A-player to join our editing team. It’s important for this role that you have a background in the things I mentioned earlier so please don’t apply if you have no prior experience or background in space-related topics.
Tasks
- Visually bring to life well-written scripts and voiceover files, creating beautifully edited and stunning final videos to be uploaded onto Youtube, all about space and astronomy
- Reversioning content for best performance across other social platforms
- Creating clips, editing compilations, optimising videos, adding lower thirds and subtitles, and uploading to a schedule
- Source and utilising an archive library and third-party footage to create content
- Day-to-day liaison with Content Manager and Executive Producer.
- Asset management and archiving of content
Requirements
- Essential to have good knowledge of and be passionate about space and astronomy content
- Excellent knowledge of and at least 1-2 years of experience creating content for Youtube - Facebook, and other social media platforms is secondary - and deep insight the best use of video and audio editing techniques
- Excellent knowledge of Adobe Premiere Pro, Adobe Photoshop, and Adobe After Effects (Animations, Subtitling, Lower thirds, and transitions are a part of every edit).
- Strong knowledge of different video formats, video compression, sound/video synchronisation, downloading from an archive system
- Strong knowledge of / passion for factual content is a bonus
- Great English communication skills, the role requires constant communication with cross-functional partners.
- Impeccable spelling and grammar and grasp of the English language.
- Great attention to detail.
- Fast internet connection (150mbps+ preferable)
