Librarian – 36 hours per week
Based: Lincoln Central Library
Salary: Up to £26,786
Lincolnshire Libraries are seeking a professional, knowledgeable, and proactive Librarian to work 36 hours per week. Based at Lincoln Central Library, but supporting the service county wide, you will take responsibility for defined areas of stock acquisitions, development, management and service delivery, ensuring high quality stock within an agreed budget. This is an exciting time to join our team as we improve and promote our services for the people of Lincolnshire – whether it’s our valued existing users or widening the offering to a new group of customers.
Reporting to the Acquisitions Manager, you’ll provide a high level response to staff and customer enquiries. Contributing to staff training and development you’ll support the delivery of wider team projects and work closely with colleagues across the county to ensure our collections and services are relevant to the needs of our communities.
You will need to be qualified to degree or equivalent level in Librarianship and have proven experience of working in a library or information environment, as well as an understanding of the value and operations of public libraries. An enthusiastic and passionate Librarian, you will need to be flexible, forward thinking and hands-on. Naturally, you’ll have excellent ICT skills as well as knowledge and understanding of how IT and digital applications can enhance public library provision. Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal are a must, as are the abilities to champion and deliver new ideas and initiatives to agreed outcomes and collate, analyse and report on performance data.
In return, we offer a range of benefits that you’d expect from the UK’s largest leisure provider:
- Discounted membership at our leisure centres
- The opportunity to join the GLL Society and have a say in how we’re run plus associated social events
- Ongoing training and development to help you to be the best
If you have the passion and skills for this role, apply now at better.org.uk/jobs
Closing date: Sunday 26th March 2023
All pay rates are subject to skills, experience, qualifications and location.
To be shortlisted for the role, internal applicants will need to demonstrate their commitment to GLL by becoming a Society member where eligible.
