Job Title: Appointment Booker

About the Trust

We are one of the largest hospital trusts in England, with five hospitals and community clinics serving a local population of around 695,000 people. We also provide some specialist services for a wider population, including renal services in Medway and Maidstone and a cardiac service for all of Kent based at William Harvey Hospital, Ashford.

What you’ll be responsible for:

· To book appointments for Cardiology Outpatient Clinics including Rapid Access Clinics ensuring necessary data is collected and recorded in accordance with AGN’s i.e. checking demographics and ethnic group.

· To update the patient administration system for the purpose of extracting, amending, up-dating and in-putting data as directed above. Ensuring all referrals are accurately recorded on PAS within the timeframes laid down in AGNs.

· To have a working knowledge of NHS guidance and protocol on booking appointments to ensure appointments are booked appropriately.

· To ensure all bookings are carried out in accordance with the appropriate specialty/clinician booking rules, only overbooking when directed by a clinician.

You’ll learn the following whilst working at the trust:

· An in depth understanding of the roles and responsibilities involved in working within the NHS

· Knowledge of the systems used, to effectively complete your role to the highest standard at all times

· A sense of teamwork, gained through working alongside and supporting colleagues from all levels, within the organisation

You’ll have the following skills/experience:

· Excellent communication skills- both verbal and written

· Microsoft office skills- Outlook, Word, and Excel

· Ability to meet deadlines and work under pressure

· Previous experience in similar role

· Administrative experience
