Our Wind Turbine Blade Manufacturing Facility in Hull is advertising for Crane Operatives to work within our Logistics Department.
Crane Operatives lift, move, position or place machinery, equipment and large obstacles around the blade facility ensuring loads are always secure. When the Crane Operatives are not lifting, they carry out Service Operative activities.
Areas of Responsibility:
Follow Siemens safety policy, procedures, lift pans and quality standards- Organise and plan lifts in accordance with manufacturers operating procedures
- Check and monitor lifts constantly ensuring very high levels of attention to detail
- Ensure safe positioning of people as lifts are conducted
- Perform forklift, overhead crane and console crane operator duties in line with specified training and competency measures.
- Ensure all relevant personnel are fully aware of the job task prior to commencement of work
- Carry out Service Operative duties as required
- Carry out tandem and synchronised lifts
- Stop the lift if an action is considered unsafe and report
- Inspect crane and lifting equipment daily and report faults
Knowledge & Skills:
Experience of operating overheads/Gantry and console cranes and lifting machinery- Good knowledge of LOLER
- A preferred experience of 50 tons minimum overhead crane operations
- Essential to hold a valid CPCS card for Mobile Cranes – Blue preferred
- Would be advantageous to hold a Crane Operator License in accordance with legislative requirements.
- Forklift truck license – Reach or Counterbalance

- A desire to continuously improve.
- Ability to work a shift pattern that includes working days, nights and weekends
