Learning and Development Manager

Jobs 22 is an innovative new company created by the Angus Knight Group and the national UK charity, Catch22. The Angus Knight Group is a major provider of human services across Australia and a skills provider in the UK. Catch22 has designed and delivered services that build resilience and aspiration in people and communities for over 200 years.
With the support and experience of these established organisations, we are building a new approach to helping individuals who may have been out of work for a significant period of time, to find employment.
We have a dedicated team of supportive coaches, skills trainers, occupational health advisors and labour market analysts, all focused on inspiring and motivating individuals to overcome barriers they may have to get back into meaningful and sustainable employment.
As part of a new government initiative, we are working with employers, local government and other partners to deliver tailored support for individuals across several parts of the UK.

About The Role
As our Learning and Development Manager, you will help our employees advance their skills and knowledge. The role will be responsible for identifying, developing and delivering inspiring and appropriate learning and development solutions for Jobs 22 employees.
This role is central to Jobs 22’s vision of delivering high impact services at scale, building resilience and aspiration in people and communities, by supporting them in to sustainable employment.
Working directly with senior stakeholders you will be joining an entrepreneurial, energetic and passionate team.
Your in-depth knowledge of welfare to work, and your experience of creating and execute learning strategies and programs, will enable you to be impactful in our growing business.
As a start-up, you can expect to have a broad remit and plenty of opportunity to take on additional responsibility to the below over time:
- Managing the budget for the L&D function and working with the Head of HR with training requirements;
- Create, maintain, and execute learning strategies and programs for the financial year;
- Develop and train employees with IEP qualification, look at becoming or is a IEP qualified individual (Jobs22 is to become a satellite centre);
- Evaluate individual and organizational development needs through working with key stakeholders in the business;
- Implement various learning methods companywide;
- Design and deliver e-learning courses, workshops and other trainings through Absorb;
- Assess the success of development plans and help employees make the most of learning opportunities;
- Creating succession plans and career pathways;
- Help managers develop their team members through career pathing;
- Manage the department thoughtfully, keeping the interests of our staff & customers at the forefront;
- Streamline onboarding and induction with additional assistance of the Quality Development Lead;
- Plan the annual training calendar and other learning and development activities;
- Inspire others to grow , perform and achieve at their best.
Skills, Qualifications & Experience Required
- Proven experience as an Training Manager or similar.
- Current knowledge of effective learning and development methods.
- In depth knowledge of welfare to work sector, the DWP, and ideally the UK skills agenda, would be highly beneficial.
- Familiarity with e-learning platforms and practices.
- Experience in project management and budgeting.
- Proficient in MS Office and Learning Management Systems (LMS).
- Excellent communication and negotiation skills; sharp business acumen.
- Ability to build rapport with employees and stakeholders.
- Professional certification.
- Constructive approach to people management.
- Highly collaborative nature, couple with excellent communication skills including effectively managing relationships at all levels.
- Comfortable working in a start-up environment, where there is a need to be both creative, pragmatic and to sometimes “wear different hats”.
- Demonstrable track record of remaining calm under pressure and working to tight deadlines when managing multiple projects.
- Enthusiasm to get the job done well & maximise Jobs 22’s potential.
- Be able to travel within UK.
