Job Description
A brilliant opportunity for a Junior Procurement Officer on a Maternity cover contract has come up within our Procurement Team. You will assist the procurement of all inventories, supplies, and services for London Gateway companies, including negotiating price, delivery, and credit terms, while reporting to the procurement manager.
This role will have a fixed term contract of 12 months. It is a wonderful chance to get a lot of exposure to the procurement industry. No two days are ever the same in this diversified employment, which ranges from purchasing stationery to procuring brand-new cranes for the job site.
To include duties such as:
- To ensure that all necessary tools, equipment, spare parts, components, services and contracts are purchased as required
- To manage/coordinate the delivery of the above on site in a safe and organised manner
- Identifying allocated purchasing activities to achieve best value for money by considering Total Cost of Ownership
- Working with mangers/senior managers to assist with improvements and streamlining of processes to reduce costs
- Support the implementation of procurement strategy and policies and ensuring that procurement procedures are complied with by internal stakeholders and suppliers
- Liaising with internal stakeholders to review and clarify requirements to ensure that value for money outcomes are achieved through the sourcing of goods or services.
- Comparing and evaluating quotations received from potential suppliers and dealing with any queries or concerns about completed documentation.
About you:
- 3-4 years of relevant procurement experience and strong procurement knowledge
- CIPS qualification desirable
- Knowledge of OJEU Tender Processes desirable
- Have a proven track record within Procurement with experience of preparing tenders and quotes
- Must have thorough understanding of software applications for purchasing
