About the role:
We are currently seeking three Process Technicians to join our friendly Guildford & South West Surrey area operations team. This role presents an exciting opportunity to join a dedicated and sociable team of professionals committed to delivering the production of millions of litres of water for customers across South West Surrey each day. The successful candidate will be a key member of a team of process technicians and work with internal and external stakeholders to ensure water production sites. The successful candidate will learn how to operate and optimising all processes and equipment on water treatment works to ensure water quality, compliance, safety and operational efficiency.
Training around all aspects of production and operation of our sites will be provided.
Essential Skills:
- Ability to demonstrate logical thinking, attention to detail, workload management is a must
- Excellent communication skills
- A UK full valid driving licence
- Health and safety knowledge
- Ability to make decisions about our sites, sometimes under pressure
- Ability to work with internal and external stakeholders, building strong relationships quickly
- The ability to work autonomously and part of a team
- Competent with IT systems
- Strong interpersonal skills, and ability to build report
Desirable Skills:
- Management of Water Production or equivalent qualification
- Industry experience
- Experience of procurement and working to a budget
- Calm under pressure
- Physically fit as you may have to work in confined spaces on successful completion of the appropriate training
Responsibilities:
The successful candidate will be a key member of the area operations team and will deliver of a high standard of work at over 40 sites. The role of Process Technician reports to the Production Manager along with other Process Technicians.
The role includes:
- Completion of scheduled planned work on plant and equipment in compliance with company standards and procedures to improve plant resilience
- Responding to reactive work in order to maintain our operational output and the supply for clean water to our customers within Guildford and Southwest Surrey area.
- Supporting internal and external stakeholders with large scale planned work at our sites
- As required, support the training of apprentices within the area
- Promote a safe working environment through your own actions and behaviours
- Out of Hours stand-by work on a rotational basis
