The role
As an Assistant Buyer you’ll have a role that’s out of the ordinary. Supporting Buyers to ensure that Babcock’s commercial position is best protected through use of agreed terms and conditions of contract and purchase orders
Day to day,
- you’ll execute the requisition to order process within agreed service levels up to a value of £2m, support Buyers to ensure that Babcock’s commercial position is best protected through use of agreed terms and conditions of contract and purchase orders,
- Support Buyers in execution of order book management and expediting processes to ensure the supply chain delivers on time to meet all Business Unit requirements and support Buyers in execution of processes, and interfaces with finance, to ensure on-time payment to suppliers.
- Support Buyers in execution of supplier on-boarding and qualification processes to ensure selected suppliers are approved and available to trade with and support Buyers to Source within existing supply agreements defined by Project Procurement and Category Management teams.
- Support Buyers to ensure that all technical and quality requirements are fully satisfied and that all material and service requirements are supplied in accordance with specifications provided
Essential experience of the Assistant Buyer
- Basic knowledge of current operational procurement techniques
- Basic knowledge of ERP systems for example, IFS, SAP, Oracle.
This role is based full time on site at Rosyth
The successful candidate must be able to achieve SC security clearance level for this role.
