Your New Role…

The WBUK Marketing department constantly strives to create and maintain a best-in-class marketing function with an emphasis on lifetime value of WB content.

A core area of focus for WBUK is the development and growth of our franchise strategy, primarily built around DC, which is wholly owned by WB; The Wizarding World, founded on our partnership with J.K Rowling, our library of classic animation including Looney Tunes, Scooby-Doo and Tom & Jerry and the HBO phenomenon Game of Thrones.

This role sits in the WBUK Marketing department and is focussed on driving the overall WBUK P&L and the lifetime value of content and producs across Film, TV, Games, and Consumer Products.

The Marketing Executive will support Senior Franchise Manager, responsible for delivery and implementation of UK specific strategic franchise objectives for DC, Animation and TV franchises.

In particular, the Executive will support between the WBUK Consumer Products division and the UK Franchise team to ensure activation and implementation at retail of key initiatives.

Your Role Accountabilities…

  • Support the Senior Franchise Manager in delivering franchise strategies in line with agreed objectives.

  • Lead on the DC social channel day to day agency management, asset sourcing, campaign delivery and approvals.

  • Support the delivery of the UK digital strategy for DC and Family Entertainment, working closely with the UK Digital Team to drive 1p data.

  • Support cross-divisional collaboration, joining the dots across all relevant business units and departments in the UK.

  • Cultivate close working relationships with all relevant UK divisional colleagues including Theatrical New Release, Consumer Products, TV and Home Entertainment & Games

  • Provide specific support to the Consumer Products team on these franchises, reflecting the role that Consumer Products play in an ‘always on’ franchise strategy.

  • Support the CP Product and Category Managers, particularly around pitching to retailers and positioning the franchises externally.

  • Work closely with all other relevant Divisions to optimise the franchise at retail, liaising with Customer Marketing to ensure retail plans are aligned with marketing activity across individual franchise / brand campaigns and priorities.

  • Be the keeper of the Franchise calendars, identifying opportunities to encourage fan engagement outside tentpole moments.

  • Look for opportunities to express your entrepreneurial spirit! Investigate events, or experiential activities that could have the potential to generate revenue.

  • Work as the liaison for brand approvals for licensee advertising

Qualifications & Experience…

  • Entertainment experience ideally brand / franchise marketing

  • Social and 1p data marketing experience preferred

  • A strategic head as well as an organized mind, able to handle a fast paced environment

  • Curiosity, and a desire to try new things

  • Demonstrate commercial and financial acumen

  • Excellent communication and relationship building skills

  • Influential, with the ability to encourage collaboration and to take people with you

  • A track record of using social media as a critical part of campaigns, with an understanding of tracking effectiveness in this area

  • Knowledge of the UK retail landscape

  • Unflappable!
