Working a variable rota that runs Saturdays to Mondays from 7am to 8pm, you will be responsible for manning the outpatients’ reception and carrying out the daily administrative functions including bookings on a weekly rota basis. You will engage with; patients, consultants and external providers as well as staff members across all other departments within the wider trust to provide them with world class care customer service. You will be responsible for covering for the Private Patients Administration Coordinator– Inpatients/Enquiries/Radiology across all sites where PPU operates during periods of annual leave etc.
An impeccable telephone and email manner and confidence in dealing with people at all levels are essential. You should be a team player, meticulous, detail oriented, flexible and enthusiastic with the ability to work in a challenging and changing environment.
You will have a working knowledge of Compucare, Cerner, CRIS, EDRM, IRRIS, EPR and Microsoft Office

- Degree level qualification or equivalent experience
- Strong working knowledge and professional proficiency in the use of; Outlook package; Power Point, Excel, Microsoft Word, Access, Email and trust systems; Cerner, Compucare, IRRIS, CRIS, PACS, EPR, EDRM
- English and Maths at GCSE level or equivalent
- Courses / further study attended to demonstrate evidence of personal development
- Previous experience of working in a front of house customer facing environment in a private healthcare environment
- Substantial experience in a customer service environment
- Understanding of the requirements regarding patient confidentiality
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Excellent customer care practice, being polite, sympathetic, patient and diplomatic
- Highly numerate and Comfortable discussing payment requirements with patients
- IT competent user of appropriate systems; Microsoft Office Applications, Cerner, Compucare, IRRIS, CRIS, PACS, EPR, EDRM
- Team worker
- Flexible (post holder will be required to work shifts)
- Team work and ability to develop strong collaborative working relationships within different teams and relevant administrative, clinical and management staff
