What you will be doing
Our Grassroots Apprenticeships are back! We are looking for an enthusiastic Events Assistant to join our UK Brands team for an 18 month Apprenticeship, within the world of Sport. You will hit the ground running, rotating between our brand marketing teams and gaining access to some of the most exciting events out there.
This is a super hands-on role, sitting within our Brands team in London. This team focuses on account management for huge brands across the sport and entertainment industry. This apprenticeship will enable you to work with varying accounts, on many different types of events, with three 6 month rotations.
A huge aspect of this will be on-site events support (there may be the occasional weekend) and also lots of event planning administration work. With this in mind, this is a fantastic opportunity for someone seeking a well-rounded overview of the world of events, as you complete your apprenticeship.
The rotations are currently outlined as:
- First 6 Month Rotation: The Motorsports team
- Second 6 Month Rotation: The Motorsport Team and Rugby World Cup
- Third 6 Month Rotation: The London Marathon, The 6 Nations and TBC
Each will come with their own tasks and deliverables, but key responsibilities include:
- Meeting Management, preparation and write up of notes and actions
- Supporting relationships with suppliers, agencies, clients and partners
- Supporting project and status meetings with clients
- A lot of race / event planning support; Building schedules, Event delivery trackers, Event documentation input and creation & Guest communications
- Onsite event support (the exact races are tbc at the moment, but there will be plenty of opportunity to support races globally).
Applying to the role
As part of the application, SHORTLISTED candidates will be asked to create a short video and submit a written answer.
Video brief:
Using a smart phone, create a three-minute video of yourself telling us why you want this apprenticeship by answering the below questions: (be as creative as you like!)
- How would your peers describe you?
- Name a sport partnership that has caught your eye recently – and tell us what you thought of it (whether it was good / bad – and why)
- This role involves working on events and engaging with sports fans/general public. Talk us through how you would respond if someone came up to you to complain about the brand that you’re working on behalf of?
- You’re the captain of a football / rugby / any sport team and you’re currently playing a match. It’s halftime and your team is losing. You’re in the dressing room leading the team talk – what do you say to your team to motivate them for the second half?
Written answer brief:
In 500 words or less, please tell us about a sporting event that has impressed you and why. (Key things to think about could be; location, audience, brand advertising, infrastructure, operations, etc).
