Due to continued expansion, they are looking for an experienced Environmental Health and Safety Specialist. The role is Inside IR35 and is offered on an initial 9 month contract. The role is based in Sheffield.
The purpose of this role will be to provide practical support to management and employees to enable the company to achieve a high standard of EHS performance.
Responsibilities
- Prepare compliance and technical reports to meet Environmental, Health and Safety (EHS) regulatory requirements.
- Act as primary site collaborate with regulatory agencies.
- Prepare and submit permit applications.
- Perform program reviews, investigate incidents and provide corrective action to prevent re- occurrence of incidents.
- Evaluate workplace hazards.
- Provide input to new business opportunities and facilities projects to ensure compliance.
- Conduct education and training to support regulatory and business requirements.
- Evaluate impact of new regulations on company operations.
- Review vendor, contractor and supplier activities for EHS compliance for site processes and program goals.
Key skills will include influencing people, communication, problem solving, pragmatism and flexibility. General IT skills are also important.
The EHS Specialist will provide day-to-day EHS support for risk assessment, EHS procedures, communications, EHS inspections, induction training, EHS observations, Emergency procedures, accident investigations, and environmental compliance and sustainability.
The successful candidate will have a qualification in environment, health and safety, preferably to degree/diploma level, ideally previously holding a health and safety role within this environment.
Key skills will include influencing people, communication, problem solving, pragmatism and flexibility.
General IT skills are also important.
This role will work closely with the rest of the regional EHS team.
