Job Description

Hush is a fast-growing fashion and lifestyle brand, founded 18 years ago by Mandy Watkins and now established as one of the UK’s leading online fashion retailers. We employ around 150 staff in our head office and across 30 John Lewis concessions, creating and selling a beautiful range of women’s clothing and accessories that are characterised by an elegant simplicity and laidback sense of style. Despite the challenges to the retail industry over the past 2 years, hush has continued grow – but our company culture still reflects our entrepreneurial roots and relaxed aesthetic – we love hard-working and talented people with a can-do attitude and a passion for what they do.

The Role:

Lead and develop specific categories in all aspects of garment technology, being an expert in your category. Managing the end-to-end quality of fit, construction and technical performance.

Responsibilities:
  • Development & maintain category standard manuals, minimum measurements, blocks, construction, and quality standards.
  • Elevation of fit and quality demonstrating excellent technical fit skills and strong written communication.
  • Provide technical specifications including grades and tolerances.
  • Leverage the use of PLM through strong data management.
  • Identify opportunities for cost saving through product engineering.
  • Instigate opportunities for fit alignment were identified with your cross functional internal partners.
  • Efficient management of business-critical path achieving on time requirements by management of fit meetings.
  • Train and mentor category team with business lead objectives and goal setting.
  • Risk manage category by ensuring all testing and performance requirements are applied.
  • Management of product non-compliance with proactive problem-solving skills.
  • Develop relationships and effective communication internally and with external suppliers with strong interpersonal skill.
The Person:
  • Expert in Knitwear and yarn performance.
  • Proven ability of manufacturing and quality processes.
  • Grading skills.
  • Labelling and compliance standards.
  • Excel and PLM skills.
  • Ability to treat confidential information with appropriate discretion and have a high level of integrity.
  • Have excellent attention to detail.
