Job title: Graphic Designer
Salary: from £25,000 (negotiable dependent on experience)
Location: Blyth (Monday – Friday, with some WFH flexibility)
Role:
This client is a leading European fishing tackle business based in Blyth, Northumberland. It designs and develops fishing tackle and has a current catalogue of over 800 product SKU’s which are sold in over 15 countries. Products are marketed under two distinct and separate brands taking the company to a total of 26 employees. The successful candidate will need to be able to work closely with other team members and will need to be flexible to meet the challenges of a rapidly changing business.
The role will suit a creative individual with a strong aesthetic sense, who is technically proficient with design software, has excellent communication and problem-solving skills, and the ability to work well under pressure to meet tight deadlines. A degree or certification in graphic design or a related field is ideally required, along with a strong portfolio demonstrating a range of design skills and experience.
Objectives of the role:

Work closely with the product development and marketing teams to create design ideas that inspire, inform, or captivate consumers.

Develop design concepts, graphics, and layouts for a wide range of applications, including print, digital and social media.

To ensure all product, packaging, advertising, and digital media designs align with the overall project and brand goals.

Use design software and tools proficiently to create high quality designs.

Ensure consistency in design elements across various mediums and channels.
Responsibilities:

Ensure design concepts, graphics and layouts that are created to enhance the desirability and image of the brands.

Create visual branding elements such as logos, typography, colour schemes and other design requirements for products, packaging, point of sale and other marketing materials.

Prepare designs for print or digital publication and provide guidance to print vendors, web designer or other production specialists.
- Select appropriate colours, fonts, and layouts to communicate the correct image for both brands.

Prepare files for print and digital publication and ensure they meet technical requirements.

Manage multiple projects simultaneously while maintaining attention to detail and organisation.

Stay up to date on design and techniques to ensure designs remain relevant and effective.
