Job Description
A Trainee Project Manager is needed by a growing contractor, based in Southampton. The position is a permanent role where you will be working from the office based in Romsey, Southampton, but will also involve site visits.

You will work with established Project Managers initially in a supporting role to learn the skills required to progress and become fully competent.
Key Activities include:
- Support Project Managers with project set-up
- Production of construction/commissioning programmes in ASTA Powerproject (training provided)
- Production and issuing of technical submittals and RFIs (request for information)
- Using construction based IT platforms
- Production of health and safety documentation for site
- Support the Project Manager with procurement, chasing quotations and placing orders
- Issuing drawings to sub-contractors, logging drawings in and out
- Filing on behalf of the Project Manager
- Any other reasonable tasks assigned by the Project Manager within the job holder’s capabilities
Essential Skills:
- Good computer skills, including Word and Excel
- Effective communication both verbal and written
- Efficient, flexible, accuracy and attention to detail
- Ability to multi-task as working on several projects at a time
- Ability to work to targets and goals within set guidelines and parameters
- Someone who is ambitious, dynamic, self-motivated and driven
Training & Development:
We will put together a personalised training and development plan over a three year period, taking you from £24,000 to £40,000 per annum by year three.
Qualifications:
- Technical/engineering or vocational qualification relating to mechanical and electrical services i.e. an Apprenticeship, BTEC or equivalent
- English Language GCSE – Level 4 (A*-C)
- Mathematics GCSE – Level 4 (A*-C)
