Job Description
Horticentre is a friendly, family run traditional garden centre based in Wakefield, West Yorkshire. As part of our expansion programme we currently have an exciting opportunity for a garden centre assistant to join our team and assist with the day to day running of the shop floor- this position is on a seasonal basis.
The position will be seasonal and includes full time or part time availability and working either a Saturday or Sunday and bank holidays.
All candidates should be friendly, reliable, hard working, self motivated and good with people. They should possess a drive to succeed and be capable of working independently and as part of a team.
The main duties of the role include:-
Merchandising stock- shelf stacking and replenishment of stock
Pricing of stock and displaying
Packing
Watering and general plant care (weeding, deadheading etc.)
Dealing with incoming and outgoing deliveries
Assisting customers lifting items and carrying to car
Using EPOS till system
General housekeeping
Experience is desirable but not essential as full training will be provided.
Skills/ Experience required for the role:-
Keen interest in horticulture
Previous retail experience preferably within a garden centre
Happy to do a role which will involve some outside work all year round
