The Professional Standards Branch, situated at Unit A, Central Park Northampton Road, Newton Heath, Manchester is responsible for:

  • Recording and managing complaints and misconduct matters (police officers and staff)
  • Investigating the more serious complaints and internal misconduct
  • Administrating misconduct hearings
  • Investigating incidents during which members of the public are caused serious harm by GMP staff
  • Assisting the force with organisational learning, prevention and learning
  • Undertaking counter corruption work

The role of investigating officer is to investigate serious complaints and misconduct matters, presenting files to both the CPS and misconduct hearing panels.

We are looking for Candidates with a track record of investigating serious and complex crime.
